Cherry

Sour cherry is a type of woody angiosperm, which is, in fact, the name for the fruits (which are used in human nutrition as fruit). It belongs to a family that also includes almonds, peaches, plums and apricots. It is widespread in most of Europe and South-West Asia.

Sour cherries are grown on modern plantations and their fruits are used to make: juices, jams, compotes, sweet cherry, or frozen to make various desserts (creams, syrups, ice cream...). In addition, brandy (cherry cherry) is made from sour cherries.

Plum

Plum is from the rose family. The term plum usually refers to domestic plum varieties, which are numerous. Most of the varieties are used in food in the form of fruit, and some are also used for their wood. All over Europe, the alcoholic drink šljivovica is made from the fruits of this tree (among the Serbs, it is often called simply šljiva or šljivka), which in our areas is considered the Serbian national drink. Marmalades and jams (plum jam) are often made from the fruits.

Apricot

Apricot (or Armenian plum), also known as apricot, is a continental stone fruit that, together with plums, almonds, peaches, sour cherries and cherries, belongs to the genus Prunus of the rose family. Due to the widespread cultivation of apricot in prehistoric times, the limits of its natural range are not determined with certainty, but it is most likely somewhere in Asia. It is cultivated in a large number of countries and in many of them it has spread into the wild. This is another one of the popular fruit trees that, in Serbia, are used to make brandy...

Peach

Peach, praska or sheftelia, is another tree from the rose family. It is known for the fruits of the same name, which people use as a very tasty and sweet fruit. It originates from Central Asia (as indicated by its name in Latin, from which the Serbian name is derived). As a fruit, it is used raw, and it is also suitable for making compotes, juices, jams, and for drying.

Thanks to its wide adaptability, the peach occupies an important place in world production. A lot is produced also because numerous varieties have been discovered that are able to adapt to different growing conditions

Apple

Apple is a species of woody plant from the Rose family, as is the name of its fruit (the scientific name of the fruit is pomum). There are over 7,500 cultivars of domestic apple.

The domestic apple is a deciduous tree up to 12 m high, with a dense canopy. The leaves are oppositely arranged, oval with a pronounced tip and a jagged edge. The flowers are white (pink at the beginning of flowering), with 5 petals and 5 sepals. The fruit ripens at the end of summer and during autumn.

Pear

Pear is a genus of woody plants from the Rose family, whose fruits of the same name are used in human nutrition. Species of this genus grow in temperate regions of Europe, Asia and Africa. The trees are of medium height (10-17m), mostly deciduous, with simple and alternating leaves (2-12 cm long). The fruit is a special form of berry — pomum, with a single or multi-layered epidermis.
